ACB nabs traffic cop red-handed in bribery decoy trap in Ahmedabad
November 21, 2023
Ahmedabad: In a decoy operation here in the city, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed a traffic police constable in a bribery case of Rs. 100.
There have been several cases in which vehicles coming and going through Ahmedabad city and the National Highway are stopped by the police, Home Guard, and TRB personnel. The officials halt the vehicles, subjecting the drivers to various pretexts, harassing them, and demanding bribe money for personal gain rather than imposing legal penalties.
Based on this, the ACB set up a decoy trap today at S. P. Ring Road, where the accused, Indrasingh Kapurji Thakor (32) posted as a police constable in “A” Traffic Police Station, Ahmedabad City, stopped Decoyer’s small car, engaged in a deliberate conversation, demanded the bribe of Rs. 100, and accepted the amount.
As it was a decoy trap, the accused was caught red-handed. The ACB has detained the above accused and taken further action. DeshGujarat
