Tunnel drilling machine from Gujarat sent to Uttarakhand for rescue mission

Surat: A machine for the construction of tunnels was sent to Uttarakhand in a truck to rescue the 41 laborers trapped in a tunnel in the Uttarkhand-based Yamunotri national highway.

A drilling machine was sent to Uttarakhand through a green corridor from South Gujarat by L&T company. It was used to construct a 350-meter-long tunnel for the Ahmedabad – Mumbai high-speed rail project (bullet train project). It was sent from Valsad on the 20th of November night to Uttarakhand.

While some spare parts were detached and sent to Uttarakhand via railway, the main body of the machine was placed atop a truck.  In order to ensure smoothest and fastest journey of the truck, carrying this machine, police created green corridor throughout the highway. DeshGujarat
