Electrician dies after falling from 8th floor of Vadodara based hotel

Vadodara: A 21-year-old youth working as an electrician died under suspicious circumstances after falling from the 8th story of Hotel Suba Elite in Fatehgunj.

A 23-year-old youth, Shahid Shabbirbhai Malek, who lives near Yakutpura Hussain Masjid in the city, was working as a geyser technician at Suba Elite Hotel on Fatehgunj Road for the last 4 days. Allegedly working on the 8th floor of the building without any safety gear, he got electrocuted and fell down. Later, he was shifted to SSG hospital through a 108 ambulance for treatment, where doctors on duty declared him dead.

On the other hand, after the sudden death of the young son of the family, crowds of people are seen outside the post-mortem room at SSG Hospital. The family has raised questions about the security of personnel working in the hotel. The police have filed a complaint in the case of the suspicious death of the individual, and further investigation is ongoing.

The elder sister of the deceased, Saima Sheikh, told the media, “We were informed around 7:30 in the morning that my brother had fallen down and had been admitted to the hospital. But as we reached the hospital, we found out that he had passed away. He died because there was no safety. We have no debts, so why would my brother commit suicide? We have no one; it’s just me and my mother, and we want justice. No one can work there without safety. My request is that safety should be checked there. We only demand justice for my brother. Today it was my brother. Tomorrow it may be someone else’s brother or father. We just want an inquiry into the matter and justice.” DeshGujarat
