Ahmedabad: With the increase in high-rise residential and commercial buildings in the city, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) Fire Department is adding another large crane to its firefighting equipments.

The Fire Department has ordered a snorkel crane that can reach 105 meters at a cost of Rs. 50 crore. The delivery of this crane will be completed soon. This new crane will assist in reaching buildings over 40 stories in the event of a catastrophe.

Devang Dani, Chairman of the Standing Committee, said, “The city is witnessing vertical development with the approval of high-rise buildings. Keeping this in mind, the Fire Department has placed the order, and the delivery will be made soon. Additionally, recruitment will be carried out in the Fire Department in the coming time.”

It is noteworthy that currently, the AMC’s Fire Department has a crane with a range of 75 meters. DeshGujarat
