With this the charge of municipality has been handed over to Chief Officer. Urban development department’s deputy secretary Manish shah had on 4 November asked to convene a general board meeting on 16 November and pass a resolution to send reply to a show cause notice.

However before the formation of various committees, the BJP rebels and Congress members entered into a dispute over appointments on various “rewarding” posts.
The State government’s urban development department in its notice pointed out several issued such as illegal formation of committees, expenditure of government fund for private space, failure to convene mandatory meetings in January, April and October 2022 and January, April, July and October 2023, no decision on tendering process, administrative and financial irregularities among others. Last year Borsad municipality in same district was also declared supersede. DeshGujarat
