No entry for private luxury buses on 150 Feet Ring Road in Rajkot
December 12, 2023
Rajkot: The entry of private luxury buses and heavy vehicles on the 150 feet ring road is prohibited starting today.
Heavy vehicles and private luxury buses will not be able to enter this ring road from 8 am to 9 pm. Entry for these vehicles is restricted on the 11 km stretch from Madhapar Chokdi to Gondal Chokdi. However, the movement of mini buses and school buses is not prohibited.
The Commissioner of Police had issued this notification five months ago in July to restrict the entry of buses. However, due to protests by bus operators, the implementation was postponed and is now effective from today.
The notification had stated that the ring road, which was earlier outside the city is now very much a part of city and therefore the decision has been taken for ease of traffic and vehicular movement.
While deferring the notification earlier, the police had asked bus operators to provide documents regarding the parking the buses on side of roads in the city. However, the bus operators did not comply with the order. Now, the decision to ban the movement of these buses has been implemented. DeshGujarat
