Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed a clerk of Uma Shikshan Teerth, along with his accomplice, a class 4 employee in Naroda, in connection with a bribery case involving Rs. 12,000.
According to the details of the case, the plaintiff’s daughter, a 12th standard student in Uma Shikshan Teerth (School) under the Umiya Shikshan Trust, receives a government scholarship of Rs. 32,300 due to her Scheduled Tribe status. The clerk, Niket Dinesh Bhai Patel working in Science Dept. of Uma Shikshan Teerth, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 12,000 from this scholarship amount. As the plaintiff was unwilling to pay the bribe, he reported the matter to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Acting on the complaint, the ACB set a trap. During the operation, Shivaji Maghaji Thakor, at the direction of Niket Patel, engaged in a deliberate conversation with the complainant and accepted the bribe money. Both accused individuals were caught red handed, detained, and further action is being taken. DeshGujarat
