December 23, 2023
Ahmedabad: With the commencement of operations by five new international airlines from the city, the expansion work of the international terminal at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport has picked up pace.
Fly Baghdad, Malaysian Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Smile, and Thai Air commenced operations in 2023, enhancing connectivity with the Far East and facilitating access to countries such as Australia and New Zealand. Singapore Airlines has also responded to the increased passenger flow by increasing its flight frequency from four to seven.
Over the past two years, significant enhancements have been made to the two terminals at SVP International Airport, including the addition of immigration counters, check-in facilities, the security hold area, and lounges. Sources indicate that the aerobridges at Terminal 2 will soon be expanded to accommodate the increased infrastructure required for the newly operational international airlines.b DeshGujarat
