Gujarat Congress invites 3 names via Secret Ballot to select Lok Sabha candidates

Ahmedabad: The State Congress is seeking suggestions for a three-member panel to select Lok Sabha candidates through a “secret ballot.” This decision was made during a coordination committee meeting for 15 city districts of Gujarat, chaired by GPCC president Shaktisinh Gohil at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

The process involves writing the names of three competent candidates on ballot papers and depositing them in the ballot box, considering factors like the candidate’s local network and contribution to the party.

Notable leaders, including Amit Chavda, Madhusudan Mistry, Arjun Modhwadia, Siddharth Patel, and Shailesh Parmar, attended the meeting. Additionally, the party announced that new district presidents would be appointed by February 10 to replace unit presidents seeking relief.
