After negotiation, the bribe amount was reduced to ₹1,50,000, and Bharat demanded ₹4000 for himself. Taking the bribe amount, the total reached ₹1,54,000.
The complainant was instructed to pay the bribe amount today, and as he was unwilling to pay, he contacted the ACB. In a trap set up by the ACB, Bharatbhai Dungarbhai Sangthiya and Merubhai Mangabhai Pargi were caught red-handed accepting the bribe.
