NBCC inks MoUs with 25 PACS of Gujarat for world’s largest grain storage scheme

Gandhinagar: The National Building Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC) on Tuesday, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 25 primary agricultural credit societies (PACs) of North Gujarat to establish a grain storage unit, as announced by the State Cooperation Minister, Mr. Jagdish Vishwakarma.
Minister Vishwakarma explained that as part of the Central government’s initiative to expand nationwide foodgrain storage capacities, a warehouse is being constructed in each state under a pilot project. For this project, Chandranagar village in Viramgam taluka has been selected for the construction of a warehouse capable of storing 750 metric tonnes of grains.
The signing ceremony took place today at the office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies in Gandhinagar, and the construction of the storage facility is set to commence soon. DeshGujarat
