Surat: The city police have apprehended a bogus doctor operating an unauthorized clinic from his home for the past five years. The fake doctor was exposed after an 8-year-old girl died following an injection administered by him. The accused, upon being arrested, confessed to being an LIC agent without any medical degree.
Srinivas, also known as Dr. Sonu, residing in Ektanagar in the Limbayat area, ran his clinic without proper qualifications. A month ago, a family brought an ailing eight-year-old girl to him. Srinivas administered an injection to the girl, however, the child’s condition worsened, leading to her transfer to the civil hospital, where she subsequently died. The postmortem report linked the cause of death to the injection.
During the interrogation, Srinivas, originally hailing from Telangana, acknowledged his dual role as an LIC agent and an unauthorized medical practitioner. Despite lacking a medical degree, he admitted to treating patients at his home clinic. DeshGujarat
