Ahmedabad: The city’s civic body is planning to hold Ahmedabad’s first-ever food festival. The event is likely to take place at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Center from March 8 to 10, featuring a variety of dishes from both domestic and international cuisines.
It is learnt that the entry fee for the festival might range between Rs. 50 to Rs. 100, but the final decision has not been taken yet regarding this matter. The timing of the food festival is going to be from 12 noon to 10 p.m. Adequate arrangements are being made to accommodate approximately 500 to 600 people for lunch and dinner during the festival.
This marks the first time that the health department of the municipality is organising a food festival, and preparations are underway to ensure its success, similar to the Kankaria Carnival and Flower Show.
The municipality has invited organisations and consulting agencies to participate in the festival, allowing them to set up stalls for a fixed fee. Live cultural performances and music programmes are also planned for the evening from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. to entertain the visitors. At the main entrance, there will be live food demonstrations by master and celebrity chefs.
According to a municipal official, the food festival will feature three pavilions and three different themes, which will be announced shortly. The official noted that the festival will serve national and international famous dishes, exclusively vegetarian. DeshGujarat
