Gujarat CM reacts to state budget for FY 2024-25

Gandhinagar: The budget of Gujarat for the year 2024-25 aims to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047.’ This budget targets the holistic development of the entire society and gives special priority to the poor, women empowerment, farmers, and youth, said Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel after the presentation of the state Budget 2024-25 today.

Chief Minister Patel said, “Last year, a historic and development-oriented budget of Rs. 3.01 lakh crore was announced. This year, with an increase of 10%, we have brought a budget of Rs. 3.32 lakh crore in service of the citizens.”

“We are moving in the direction of making ‘5G Gujarat,’ which signifies a ‘garvu’ Gujarat better than other states; ‘Gunvantu’ Gujarat that values civic life, cares for the environment, is culturally rich;  a ‘green’ Gujarat which is at the forefront of the renewable energy sector, and enhancing circular economy; ‘Global’ Gujarat that aims to be economically and culturally connected; a ‘Gatisheel’ Gujarat with a higher growth rate compared to other states, advancing even in the ever-changing world,” the CM added.

“The ‘Suposhit Gujarat’ mission has been announced to ensure that mothers and children in our 5G Gujarat are well-nourished and healthy. Recognizing the important role that girls play in the Healthy, Prosperous, and Viksit Gujarat @ 2047, we have taken a holistic approach. Three new schemes, namely Namo Lakshmi Yojana, Namo Saraswati Yojana, and Namo Shri Yojana, have been announced,” CM Patel said.

“PM Modi has taken the message of cleanliness to each house with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. With the aim of giving velocity to this campaign, a provision of over Rs. 2500 crore has been made in the Nirmal Gujarat 2.0 scheme,” the chief minister added,

“For the planned development of cities, seven nagarpalikas—Navsari, Gandhidham, Morbi, Vapi, Anand, Mehsana, and Surendranagar—will be given Municipal Corporation status,” the CM added.

Patel said, “An important decision has been taken to expand the Sabarmati Riverfront till GIFT City and Gandhinagar. This will be a new milestone in the development of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and GIFT City as a Tri-city. The Sabarmati Riverfront of 38 kilometers will be the longest and one of the most scenic riverfronts in the world.”

“I firmly believe that this year’s budget of Gujarat is aimed at the holistic development of all, directed towards Viksit Gujarat @ 2047. I congratulate the finance minister and his team for this budget,” the CM further said.
