Patan MLA Kirit Patel appointed as Congress whip in state assembly

Gandhinagar: The Congress party has designated Dr. Kirit Patel, MLA from Patan, as the party’s whip in the Gujarat Assembly. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) conveyed this decision to Amit Chavda, the leader of the Congress Legislative Party, in a letter on Tuesday.

The appointment of Patel, a two-term MLA, comes after the resignation of the previous whip, former Vijapur MLA C J Chavda, who resigned from the state assembly last month. Following that resignation, the Congress is now left with only 15 MLAs in the Assembly. DeshGujarat
