Ailing Minister Raghavji Patel’s charge assigned to other ministers

Gandhinagar: After the state cabinet minister Raghavji Patel suffered a brain stroke, the charge of portfolios handled by him in the government have been assigned to other ministers.

Bachubhai Khabad, who is a Minister of State in the Gujarat government, has been given charge of the Panchayat and Agriculture departments. Other departments handled by Raghavji Patel have been designated to MoS Kuvarji Halpati which includes Animal Husbandry, Cow-Breeding, and Fisheries.

The decision has been taken keeping in mind the ongoing budget session of the Gujarat Assembly. In the absence of Raghavji Patel, who is undergoing treatment, the in-charge ministers will reply to the questions in the state assembly.

Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel was admitted to Synergy Hospital in Rajkot after a brain stroke. He is under medical treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) by neurosurgeon Dr. Sanjay Tilala.

Raghavjibhai was participating in the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jamnagar district’s Beraja (Pasaya) village on Saturday night when he suffered a brain stroke. He was taken to GG Hospital in Jamnagar and later shifted to a Rajkot-based private hospital.

All scheduled engagements of Raghavjibhai are cancelled or postponed. His medical condition is stable at present. DeshGujarat
