‘Millet Mahotsav-2024’ to be at Sabarmati Riverfront Ground from Mar 1-3

Gandhinagar: On the initiative of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, the United Nations declared 2023 the ‘International Millennium Year’. The state government has also planned a special programme this year to promote millets. The Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Cooperation is organising ‘Millet Festival 2024’ from March 1 to 3 in eight municipalities of the state.
‘Millet Mahotsav-2024’ will be organized at the Sabarmati Riverfront Ground in Ahmedabad from March 1st to March 3rd, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m..
The Millet festival will also have a variety of stalls on the Millet theme, handicraft sale stalls, stalls of millet and millet food products, a millet-based live food zone, and a cultural programme every night.
Entry to the ‘Millet Mohotsav-2024’ will be free (open to all) for the public.
The Millet Festival in Ahmedabad will be inaugurated by Health Minister Rishikeshbhai Patel. On this occasion, dignitaries including the Mayor of Ahmedabad City, Ms. Pratibhabehan Jain, District Panchayat President, Ms. Kanchanbehan Vaghela, Ahmedabad Pashvim Member, Mr. Kiritbhai Solanki, District Collector, Ms. Praveena D.K., and DDO, Mr. Videh Khare, will be present.
