Ahmedabad: The Kankaria East underground metro station on the east-west corridor connecting Thaltej and Vastral became operational today. This latest Metro station is located between Kalpur railway station based Metro station and Apparel Park Metro station.

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Ltd. stated in a press release, “Kankariya East Metro station in the east-west corridor of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project is ready for passenger operation today on 4th March 2024. Metro train services will be available at Kankariya East station for passengers as per existing operational timings effective from 5th March 2024.”

Presently, Metro Train services are operational in Ahmedabad from 6:20 AM to 10:00 PM with flat 12-minute headway between 07:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

The Kankaria East station is anticipated to cater to travelers going to Kankaria Lake and is forecasted to witness substantial pedestrian activity during Sundays and holidays. DeshGujarat
