Bharuch: The 25T Bollard Pull (BP) Tug, named Baljeet, was launched by Cmde Rajat Nagar, WPS (Mbi), this Sunday at M/s Shoft Shipyard Pvt Ltd in Bharuch. The tug is indigenously built under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
In line with the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiative, a contract for the construction and delivery of three 25T BP Tugs was finalized with M/s Shoft Shipyard Pvt Ltd (M/s SSPL), an MSME. These Tugs adhere to the classification rules of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS). Their deployment will bolster the operational commitments of the Indian Navy, offering crucial assistance to naval ships and submarines during berthing, un-berthing, turning, and maneuvering in confined waters.
Beyond their role in naval operations, these Tugs are equipped to provide afloat firefighting assistance to ships at anchorage and alongside. Additionally, they boast the capability to conduct limited Search and Rescue Operations, further enhancing the multifaceted support these vessels bring to maritime activities. DeshGujarat
