Joy train service to resume in Vadodara’s Kamati Baug from tomorrow
April 04, 2024
Vadodara: Thousands of people visit Kamati Baug in the city every day, drawn by its various attractions. One of the main highlights of this destination is the Joy Train, whose operation was halted immediately the day after the Harani boat capsizing accident. However, it’s now learnt that after being closed for about 2 months, the trail ride will resume starting tomorrow i.e. Friday.
In the aftermath of the Harani boat accident in January, rides in all parks of the city were ordered to cease operations until obtaining the necessary government fitness certificates and documents. Himanshu Soni, the manager responsible for operating the Joy Train, has confirmed that it has been approved to resume operations starting tomorrow. He expressed excitement about the positive news for visitors and mentioned that necessary documents have been submitted, with operations scheduled to commence after today’s cleaning and maintenance.
The Joy Train operates under a 15-year contract awarded on a PPP basis. It accommodates up to 144 passengers and covers a track length of 2 km. Additionally, smaller rides without machinery, such as bouncy jumping jets, bumper cars, and bungee jumping, were also suspended but are now permitted to resume. These rides are particularly popular among children.
Officials informed the media that the commencement of the joy train from tomorrow has been approved. Approval was granted after the submission of the required documents. For this purpose, timely inspections, track fitness checks, and engine fitness checks will be conducted following the guidelines. DeshGujarat
