Son and Daughter-in-law assault man in Rajkot over shooing stray dog

Rajkot: A 57-year-old man had to receive four stitches on his head after being beaten by his son and daughter-in-law when he tried to shoo away a dog.
Lalji Chavda, a resident of Ambedkarnagar, filed a complaint at the Thorala police station against his son Ajay and daughter-in-law Deval. According to the complaint, Deval considered the stray dog as a pet, and it frequently visited their house. Upon returning home on Thursday night, Chavda found the dog on his bed. When he attempted to shoo it away, Ajay and Deval became angry, leading to a heated argument.
Chavda claimed that Deval physically assaulted him by punching and kicking, while Ajay struck him on the head with tongs from the kitchen. Despite Chavda bleeding profusely, the couple did not take any action, and the ambulance was called by the neighbors.
