Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat has booked Jaydip Acharya, a Police Constable from PCR Van-7 of Vastrapur Police Station, and Kiran Parmar, a Home Guard, along with their accomplice Bhushan Patil in a bribery case involving a sum of Rs. 3500.
On Sunday night, the complainant’s vehicle was hit by a car in front of Vastrapur Fire Station. Subsequently, PCR Van-7 arrived and accused cops Jaydip and Kiran settled the dispute. The complainant received Rs. 9500 in the settlement. Later, the accused constable Jaydip and Home Guard Kiran respectively called the complainant and demanded Rs. 3500 as a bribe.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he contacted the ACB. Based on the complaint, the ACB set up a trap. During the operation, the accused Kiran Parmar instructed the complainant to leave the bribe money at Patel Car Accessory shop in Chandkheda. However, the ACB officers caught the accomplice Bhushan red-handed while he was accepting the bribe money. The accused Home Guard Kiran was also apprehended, while Constable Jaydip Acharya is on the run. DeshGujarat
