FSL reveals nicotine in hookahs seized from Big Daddy Cafe; owner booked

Ahmedabad: Sarkhej police had raided Big Daddy Cafe on Bopal’s VIP Road in April, uncovering an illegal hookah bar operating under the guise of a cafe. During the raid, police seized over 80 packets of hookah flavors and 30 hookahs, falsely claimed by the owner and manager to be herbal. However, forensic reports from the FSL last week revealed the presence of nicotine in the hookahs, prompting Sarkhej police to file a criminal case and launch further investigation.

The police action took place on April 4th at the Big Daddy Cafe on VIP Road in Matampura. The raid revealed that customers were using hookahs priced between Rs. 800 to Rs. 1500 inside the cafe’s upstairs hall, while others dined outside. The setup included a room resembling a hookah bar, equipped with sofas, tables, a music system, and an LED wall. Following the forensic report findings, an FIR was filed against the owner, Vinodchandra Patel, and an investigation has been initiated by the authorities. DeshGujarat
