Gujarat Govt transfers 3 IAS Officers ; Hareet Shukla becomes Chief Electoral Officer

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has today announced transfer of three IAS officers.
The govt has appointed Hareet Shukla, IAS, as the new Chief Electoral Officer for the State of Gujarat. Shukla replaces P. Bharathi, IAS, as the Chief Electoral Officer.
The letter from the General Administration Department of Sachivalaya states, “Consequent upon the Election Commission of India’s Notification No. 154/GJ/2024-P.Admn., dated 20th June, 2024, Shri Hareet Shukla, IAS (RR:GJ: 1999), Principal Secretary to Government (Tourism, Devasthanam Management, Civil Aviation & Pilgrimage), Industries & Mines Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar is transferred and appointed as Chief Electoral Officer for the State of Gujarat vice Smt. Ponugumatla Bharathi, IAS. He will also be the “Ex-Officio Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration Department (Election)”
The government has also transfered PD Palsana, Joint Chief Electoral Officer to the post of Joint Secretary, Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation department in Gandhinagar.
The notification stated, “On completion of tenure as Joint Chief Electoral Officer in the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar, Shri P.D. Palsana, IAS (SCS: GJ:2012) is appointed as Joint Secretary to Government, Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar.”
The State government has also transfered BH Talati, Additional Secretary of Climate Change department in Gandhinagar to the psot of Special Director, State Institute of Rural Development(SIRD), Ahmedabad.
“Shri B. H. Talati, IAS (SCS:GJ:2010), Additional Secretary to Government, Climate Change Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of Panchayats, Rural Housing & Rural Development Department for appointment as Special Director, State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Ahmedabad relieving Shri Vishal Gupta, lAS of additional charge of that post,’ a notification reads.
