AMC to repair 37 bridges in Ahmedabad
July 13, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to repair 37 bridges across the city. The repair work for this phase is likely to begin in 1 to 2 weeks. Work will be conducted at night to minimize disruption to daytime traffic.
Repair work will be carried out on railway underpasses, overbridges, minor bridges, and flyovers. Tasks such as joint expansion, parapet walls, retaining walls, girders, and columns will be undertaken. The decision follows surveys and inspections conducted on a total of 88 bridges by two agencies.
The Ahmedabad Road Committee Chairperson Jayesh Patel confirmed that out of 88 surveyed bridges, 69 require minor repairs. Of these, 37 are located on the east side of the Sabarmati River, with plans already approved for their repair. Tender processes for the remaining 32 bridges on the west side are expected to conclude within the next 10 to 12 days. DeshGujarat
