Bharuch: The district administration came into action today after a fake message about a flood in the Narmada River went viral. The district collector took to social media to denounce the fake news and appealed to people to stay away from rumors.
Collector & District Magistrate Bharuch, in an X post, said, “A message like ‘Narmada river will cross the dangerous level at Bharuch Golden Bridge tonight…’ has gone viral on social media. This message is wrong. All citizens are requested not to heed it.”
The message had gone viral on social media, stating that the Narmada river would cross the danger level mark at Golden Bridge and low-lying areas were asked to prepare. The fake message also claimed that 23 gates of the Sardar Sarovar dam had been opened by 5 meters, releasing 9 lakh cusecs of water.
