Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given in-principle approval for the allocation of ₹1470 crore to upgrade and strengthen 65 roads spanning a total of 688 kilometers, connecting industrial and quarry areas across the state.
As per this allocation, 83 km of roads will be widened to four lanes, and 173 km of road length will be expanded up to 10 meters. Additionally, 432 km of roads will undergo strengthening, including necessary improvements in drainage structures. Flyovers will also be constructed on these roads if deemed necessary after the preparation of detailed project reports.
The Chief Minister has directed the Road and Building Department to comprehensively cover roads in alignment with the development strategies for the North, Central, South, Kutch, and Saurashtra regions.
This initiative aims to enhance the ease of doing business by improving the movement of raw materials, finished products, and major and minor minerals for industries. The upgraded roads will also alleviate traffic in cities, towns, and villages connected by these routes. DeshGujarat
