Clerk of Gujarat education dept suspended after corruption allegations

Gandhinagar: A clerk of the state Education Department has been suspended after being accused of corruption. Clerk Ashish Bagda was suspended for demanding a bribe in exchange for granting permission for the operation of trust-run colleges.

Principal Secretary of the Education Department (Higher & Technical Education), Mukesh Kumar, has ordered an investigation into the matter, with the report to be submitted within one week.

It is learned that Ashish Bagda, while serving as a clerk in the department, made WhatsApp calls to the administrators of such colleges and institutes that had applied for certain permissions from the Education Department.
