SMC to begin road repair work following complaints from legislators

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation will commence road repair work within seven days. This decision follows a coordination meeting between Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officers and MLAs addressing civic issues.

Surat Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal announced that road repair work across all city zones will begin within seven days. The repairs are expected to progress more quickly if the rain subsides. Surprise inspections will also be conducted to assess performance. Adequate staff and machinery have been requested to be deployed in all zones to ensure the timely completion of the work.

The meeting, held two days ago, was attended by State Finance Minister Kanu Desai, who is also the Surat in-charge minister, along with Minister of State for Education Praful Pansheriya and Surat BJP MP Mukesh Dalal. City Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, Police Commissioner Anupamsinh Gahalaut, Mayor Daxesh Mavani, and SMC Standing Committee Chairman Rajan Patel were also present.
