July 25, 2024
Vadodara: After the heavy downpour on Wednesday, the water level of the Vishwamitri River began to rise, causing crocodiles from the river to venture into low-lying areas. On Wednesday evening, a crocodile attacked a girl in Kanchanpura village, located on the riverbank.
Thirteen-year-old Sejalben Samsubhai Bhabhor lives with her family in Kanchanpura village near Manjalpur Suryadarshan Gate. Around five o’clock on Wednesday evening, Sejalben and three other teenage girls went to the opposite side of the railway track. While returning, a giant crocodile that was hiding in the knee-deep rainwater attacked her and grabbed her leg. The crocodile was trying to pull the girl further into the water when she started screaming for help. The other girls with her also shouted for help. Nearby residents rushed to the scene and, after ten minutes of struggle, managed to free her from the crocodile’s jaws, although her leg was severely injured.
The girl was then taken to Sayaji Hospital for treatment, where she received 14 stitches. Her condition is now improving. DeshGujarat
