Man gets death sentence for raping, killing 8-year-old girl in Kodinar

Kodinar: A court has sentenced a man to death for raping and killing an 8-year-old girl in Kodinar of Gir Somnath district.
The convicted accused raped and killed the girl on June 12, 2022. Given the seriousness of this case, the Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) consisting of senior police officers. This team collected all the circumstantial evidence with the help of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and completed the investigation within 25 days, filing the charge sheet.
Subsequently, after the proceedings in court, the accused has been sentenced to death. Additionally, the accused has been ordered to pay Rs. 17 lakh in compensation to the girl’s family. DeshGujarat
