Red alert in parts of Gujarat for 24 hours; IMD forecasts heavy rains till August 5th

Surat: After a few days of relatively less rain, the clouds have become torrential again, with incessant rain occurring since Friday in parts of Gujarat. The India Meteorological Department, in its latest forecast, has issued a red alert for the next 24 hours for some districts of South Gujarat, as extremely heavy rainfall is likely in these areas. However, light to moderate rain is predicted for all districts of Gujarat during this period.
According to the latest bulletin from the IMD, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli have been placed on red alert due to heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places, with isolated extremely heavy falls expected in the districts during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Dangs, Tapi, and Bhavnagar have been placed on orange alert for this period due to heavy to very heavy rain expected.
A yellow warning for heavy rains has been issued for Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch, and Diu until 8:30 AM on Sunday.
On Sunday, August 4th, an orange alert with the likelihood of very heavy rains has been issued for Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
A yellow warning has been issued for Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Mahisagar, Narmada, Bharuch, Dangs, Tapi, Amreli, Gir Somnath, and Bhavnagar.
On Monday, August 5th, heavy rains are very likely in Surat, Dangs, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli; therefore, these places are marked with a yellow warning. DeshGujarat
