14th edition of Garib Kalyan Mela in Gujarat to be held in September 2024

Gandhinagar: The 14th edition of the Garib Kalyan Mela to bring the benefits of government welfare schemes to the poorer sections of the society will be held in September 2024. The Gujarat government will organize a total of 33 Garib Kalyan Melas, one in each district of Gujarat.

This year, quality aid kits worth ₹125 crores will be directly distributed to over 90,000 beneficiaries through the Garib Kalyan Mela. In addition, stalls representing various departments will be set up at the melas to provide information about the government’s various schemes.

Out of the 13 editions of Garib Kalyan Melas that have been completed so far, assistance worth ₹36,800.90 crores has been delivered to 1.66 crore beneficiaries through 1,604 such melas.

At these welfare fairs, beneficiaries can access various schemes, including Manav Garima Yojana, Dr. Ambedkar Housing Scheme, Videsh Vidyas Loan Scheme, Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Housing Scheme, Divyang Sadhan Sahay Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme, Forest Conservation and Development Scheme, Nirdhum Chula, Tree Cultivation Scheme, Decentralized Praja Nursery, Individual Housing Scheme, Vali Daughter Scheme, Khartiwadi Scheme, Animal Husbandry Department Scheme, Horticulture Department Scheme, Manav Kalyan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ma Amritham Yojana, Mission Mangalam Yojana, and others.
