Monkey Menace in Kheda Village; 25 people attacked in a month
August 08, 2024
Kheda: Villagers of Bamroli in Vaso taluka have been living under the threat of monkeys for the past several months. There have been frequent reports of attacks by monkey herds on the locals. Around 25 people have been injured in these monkey attacks in last one month, causing fear among the 7,000 residents of the village. The terror caused by the monkeys has become so severe that people are being forced to stay indoors. The villagers are now demanding that these monkeys be captured as soon as possible.
The monkeys have become aggressive, attacking people walking along the roads, especially children. A while ago, two monkeys were captured by the forest department but were released in the jungle. However, the monkeys have returned, spreading terror once again.
The situation has worsened to the point where monkeys are entering homes, stealing, and spoiling food. If anyone tries to stop them, the monkeys attack.
A local resident said, “We have been living in this situation for the last two and a half months. If we want to go anywhere in the village, we have to cross the road with fear. In the last month alone, 25 to 30 people have been attacked by these monkey gangs. We demand that the forest department take concrete steps to protect us from these monkeys.” DeshGujarat
