Gujarat Police’s massive drive against drugs continuing; Rs. 836 crore drugs seized in 9 raids in 7 days, 14 booked

Gandhinagar: In the battle against drugs, the Gujarat Police conducted raids at nine different locations, seizing narcotics worth Rs. 836.36 crores and registering offenses against 14 accused individuals between August 1st and August 7th.

Drugs seized during the raids, conducted by various teams of Gujarat Police over the past week, include charas, ganja, liquid mephedrone (MD), and tramadol liquid tablets.

The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested seven individuals in connection with two separate raids, seizing 1,410 liters of tramadol liquid tablets and 793.232 kg of liquid mephedrone (MD) worth over Rs. 831 crore. A detailed investigation has been initiated to uncover further details.

Additionally, the Ahmedabad City Police, West Kutch Police, Navsari Police, Western Railway Vadodara Police, and CID Crime arrested seven more individuals, along with 25.632 kg of ganja worth Rs. 2.38 lakh. Furthermore, the police seized 12.041 kg of charas worth over Rs. 5.32 crore in Porbandar and Gir Somnath.

India’s neighboring countries, by encouraging narco-terrorism, are also making numerous attempts to smuggle drugs into India. The Gujarat Police is vigilant in its efforts to eradicate this drug trade, which generates significant profits with minimal effort and time. Gujarat Police leads the nation in drug seizures. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi emphasized that the fight against drugs is akin to a battle between man and demon. He appealed to all conscientious citizens, including saints, religious leaders, political leaders, actors, social leaders, and influencers, to unite as ‘one family’ and help protect the youth of Gujarat from the grip of these addictive substances.
