Server downtime disrupts ration card services in Ahmedabad
September 07, 2024
Ahmedabad: Ration card holders are frequently facing difficulties due to server downtime in the food and civil supply department. This situation has persisted for the past week, and no solution has emerged as of now. In 15 zonal offices, applicants are being given up to a week’s time under the pretext of a system upgrade.
Managers of fair price shops stated that ration cards can be updated within a day. However, applicants are being told they must wait up to a week due to server problems. When will the system upgrade be completed? Ration card holders are frustrated as officials are not providing any updates. Many people are concerned because their ration cards are not being updated.
At the Vatwa and Daskrai zonal offices of the food and civil supply department, applicants have to return repeatedly for amendments, including adding or removing names. The ration cards that have been marked as silent status are also not being converted back due to server failures, leaving those who want to purchase grain waiting for the server to be restored.
