ACB Gujarat nabs clerk of Geology & Mining Dept, his accomplice in bribe case

Surendranagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed a Class 3 employee working as a clerk in the Geology and Mining Department in Surendranagar and his accomplice in a bribe case involving a sum of Rs. 1,000.

As per the details of the case, three dumper trucks belonging to the complainant were operating in Surendranagar district for transporting minerals. The accused, Sajid Khan Pathan (55), working as a Clerk (Class 3) in the Geology and Mining Department, and his accomplice, Girishbhai Jhala, a private security guard, demanded a bribe of Rs. 500 per truck, totaling Rs. 1,500 for three trucks, to allow the trucks to operate in the city. After negotiations, the bribe amount was set at Rs. 1,000. However, as the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he contacted the ACB. Later, acting on the complaint, the ACB nabbed both accused red-handed while taking the bribe on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad National Highway in Surendranagar. DeshGujarat
