Lost something at Ahmedabad Airport? Send email and get it back
September 19, 2024
Ahmedabad: People traveling from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in the city will now have the facility to retrieve their lost items easily by sending an email to the airport’s lost-and-found department.
According to an airport representative, passengers often leave items in waiting lounges and seating areas. In the past three months, around 3,000 various items have been found at both domestic and international terminals of Ahmedabad airport.
When someone other than the original passenger comes to collect lost items, they must present certain documents. These include a copy of the passenger’s boarding pass, an identity card (such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, or election card), and an authorization letter permitting the individual to pick up the items.
For situations where neither the passenger nor a relative can collect the lost belongings, the airport has implemented a special courier service. Lost items can be returned via courier if the passenger provides the necessary details, documents, and their address. This information can be emailed to lostfound.amd@adani.com, and a nominal fee will apply. Officials indicate that the service has been well-received by passengers.
