Vadodara: A woman employee of a private bank was arrested for her alleged role in a cyber fraud case. The accused, Khushbu Mishra, allegedly accepted money from cyber criminals to open bank accounts without verification.
Cybercrime inspector BN Patel stated, “During the interrogation of two accused, it came to light that Mishra had helped them open bank accounts without verification.”
Police reported that Mishra was paid Rs 20,000 to open the accounts. A police official said, “Many times, bank employees open accounts without verifying identities, which helps cyber crooks siphon off money. Senior bank officials are also responsible, as they need to verify the backgrounds of those opening accounts.” DeshGujarat
