Rajkot In-charge Chief Fire Officer Amit Dave resigns
October 03, 2024
Rajkot: Amit Dave, the In-charge Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, has resigned from his position citing personal reasons. A class 3 officer, Dave was assigned the role of CFO by the Municipal Commissioner earlier this year after former CFO Anil Maru was caught taking a bribe.
Dave has resigned and is currently on a 90-day notice period. If the resignation is not accepted within 90 days, he will automatically be relieved of duty. In the aftermath of the TRP Gamezone fire incident that took the lives of over two dozen people, Rajkot Municipal Corporation officials have been resigning one after another, with as many as 15 officials having resigned so far.
After submitting his resignation on October 1st, Amit Dave stated today, “The reason for my resignation is that my health is not good. I have conditions including diabetes, cholesterol, and high blood pressure. My father passed away 15-17 days ago, and my mother’s health is also not good. My son is also in 10th standard, and I have responsibilities toward my family that I have to tackle, so I have resigned. I have stepped down from my responsibilities as station officer.”
“Fire personnel are overwhelmed with work, and due to the lack of staff, the burden on employees has increased; I have no political pressure,” he further added. DeshGujarat
