Jamnagar: The Jamnagar Municipal Corporation carried out demolition action against an illegal dargah near Lalpur Bypass early this morning amid the presence of police.
The demolished dargah, known as Bariyapir ni Dargah, had been constructed on government land, and a wall was built around it. Authorities reported that approximately 5,000 square feet of land was freed during the operation.
Key officials, including District Police Chief Premsukh Delu, DMC D.N. Jhala, and Estate Officer Mukesh Varnawa, oversaw the operation. It is alleged that the encroachment was on the land where the dargah was built, specifically on the road between Revenue Survey No. 860 and Revenue Survey No. 928. The coordinated effort involved Mamlatdar, PI Rathod of Panch-B, along with personnel from the Local Crime Branch (LCB), Special Operations Group (SOG), and the district administration.
It is learned that the plan for this operation was made yesterday evening, following discussions between the District Collector, Municipal Commissioner, and Superintendent of Police (SP). The authorities determined the specifics of the operation and ensured police presence to maintain order throughout. DeshGujarat
