AMC razes illegal encroachment of Nazir Vora in Vejalpur for 3rd time
October 31, 2024
Ahmedabad: The city civic body carried out a demolition operation on an illegal structure owned by Nazir Vora in the Vejalpur area of the city. Vora, an alleged associate of deceased gangster Abdul Lateef, had built this illegal structure for the third time, even though the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had previously razed it twice. Vora’s unauthorized buildings were initially demolished in 2020 and 2021, yet he continued rebuilding on the same site in Sarkhej. Under police supervision, AMC took down the latest structure earlier this week.
“We are investigating if Vora colluded with AMC officials or others to rebuild despite repeated demolitions,” stated a senior Vejalpur police official. It is learned that Vora has a criminal record with 29 offenses and was jailed in Bhuj under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities (PASA) Act in 2021. DeshGujarat
