Hasmukh Patel resigns as IPS after appointment as GPSC Chairman

Gandhinagar: After being appointed as the Chairman of the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) last month, IPS officer Hasmukh Patel has now resigned from the Indian Police Service (IPS). Patel is scheduled to assume charge as GPSC Chairman on November 11th.
A 1993-batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre, Patel holds the rank of DGP (Director General of Police) and serves as the Managing Director of the Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation Limited. He also holds additional responsibilities as Chairman of the Gujarat Police Recruitment Board and the Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board.
With his resignation, the Gujarat Government will need to make appointments to these posts. He holds a Master’s degree in engineering and a PhD, among other qualifications. DeshGujarat
