DEO serves notice to Ahmedabad International School in Bodakdev
December 14, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Rural District Education Officer (DEO) has issued a notice to Ahmedabad International School, located in the Bodakdev area of the city. The notice comes after it was found that the school was operating without the necessary Building Use (BU) permission. The Rural DEO office has directed the school authorities to provide an explanation regarding the matter.
The notice states that the application for BU permission for the new building was rejected by the municipality on July 19, 2024. However, the school failed to inform the DEO office about this rejection, and despite this, educational activities continued. Additionally, the area marked as the playground in the school’s layout does not appear as a designated sports ground on the school’s map. Taking all these discrepancies into account, the DEO had issued a notice to Ahmedabad International School.
“The school had applied for BU permission, but after receiving feedback for revisions, a revised plan was submitted. Currently, BU approval exists for the old building, where the students are seated. However, the new building houses the reception and trustee offices. Therefore, there is no risk to the students. We have already responded to the notice issued by the DEO,” said Minesh Shah, Director of AIS. DeshGujarat
