Private luxury bus collides with parked dumper near Bhavnagar; 6 dead, 20 injured

Bhavnagar: A major accident occurred near Trapaj village in Talaja taluka this morning, leaving 6 dead and over 20 injured. The accident took place when a luxury private bus travelling from Surat to Rajula collided with a dumper truck parked on the side of the road.

According to reports, the dumper truck developed a fault near Trapaj, and the driver pulled it over to the side of the highway. During this time, a private bus from Apple Travels, also travelling from Surat to Rajula, crashed into the back of the dumper. Six people were killed on the spot, and over 20 others were injured.

Upon hearing about the accident, nearby residents and other drivers gathered at the scene and informed the police and emergency services. The police and ambulances promptly arrived at the location and provided immediate medical attention to the injured. The crash was so severe that the left side of the private bus was completely crushed.

The luxury bus driver, Vallabhbhai Sonabhai Makwana, said, “Our bus was travelling from Surat to Rajula, and it was completely full of passengers. The dumper was parked on the side of the road near Trapaj, but no warning stones were placed. I didn’t notice it until it was too late. When I saw it suddenly, I tried to avoid it, but the bus couldn’t be controlled in time, leading to the accident.” DeshGujarat
