Surat Metro Elevated Bridges to come up over 3 flyovers

Surat: The construction work for the Surat Metro Rail project is ongoing in the city. Under the project, the metro rail corridor is being built on two routes, which will include both underground and elevated routes. For the elevated route, bridges are being built on the road, and over the Tapi River. Additionally, three bridges on the elevated route will be constructed over three flyovers in the city.

The three flyover bridges over which metro rail bridges will be built are at Bharat Circle Bridge, the cable-stayed bridge in Adajan, and the bridge on the Udhna-Anjana farm road. This means that the metro train will run at a height of over 15-20 meters above ground level. Among these three, the Bhatar Bridge falls under the Dream City to Sarthana metro corridor, while the other two fall on the Bhesan to Saroli route.

Regarding the development, a metro official told the media that before constructing the metro bridge over any flyover bridge in the city, a survey is conducted. The minimum required height for constructing the metro bridge over the flyover is 6 meters. In Surat city, the three locations where metro bridges are being built over bridges have a height ranging from 6 to 8 meters. DeshGujarat
