Ahmedabad: In order to nab drunk drivers and ensure strict implementation of liquor prohibition laws in the city, around 443 breathalyzers have been distributed throughout Ahmedabad, with 100 of these allocated to the traffic police.
With the New Year and Christmas approaching soon, the police are also closely monitoring hotels, party plots, and private farmhouses on the city’s outskirts. DIG (Special Branch) Vidhi Choudhary emphasized, “It is mandatory for venues hosting New Year parties to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department and secure police permission along with the required documentation.”
In another development, the city police have issued a notification stating that firecrackers will only be allowed between 11:55 pm on December 31 and 12:30 am on January 1, 2025. The same rule applies for Christmas celebrations on December 24 and 25. DeshGujarat
