Valsad: The Naiya Beach Festival was organized on the shores of Umargam in Valsad. The two-day event, held on December 28 and 29, marked the third annual beach festival organized by the Naiya Sagar Shakti Utkarsh Mahila Mandal. The festival aims to give Umargam beach a new identity while providing employment opportunities for the local population. A large number of people, along with their families, flocked to the event to enjoy the festivities.

This year, the beach festival featured over 70 stalls set up by small traders and groups involved in household industries from Umargam and nearby areas. These stalls showcased home décor items, clothing, and various other products. The festival also included activities such as drawing competitions, rangoli contests, and musical events for children. Proceeds from the event are directed toward educational assistance and other charitable initiatives for children.

The festival was inaugurated on Saturday by UIA (Umargam Industries Association) President Naresh Banthiya. For the past two years, the women’s group has been organizing the Umargam Beach Festival to offer a new platform for local small-scale vendors. DeshGujarat
