Surat: The Dindoli Police Station’s surveillance team has arrested six individuals practicing medicine without valid medical degrees in the Dindoli Navagam area. The police, using dummy patients, conducted raids on the clinics and seized medical goods worth ₹52,419.
The accused include Rajesh Ramkrishna Mahajan (49), who was running Gurukrupa Clinic at Plot No. 18, Priyanka Township, Dindoli; Mahesh Vitthal Rajput (47), who operated Maya Clinic; Arti Devi Shobhnath Maurya (30), who managed Aashi Clinic; Buddh Devkumar Chauhan (21), who ran Bihar Clinic; Manorama Amardeo Vikramaditya Pal (28), who operated Abhi Clinic; and Sharad Narayan Patel (52), who managed Shri Datt Clinic—all without holding any medical qualifications.
Cases have been registered against all six under Section 125 of the B.N.S. Act, 2023, and Section 30 of the Gujarat Medical Practitioner Act at Dindoli Police Station.
During the raid, a total of ₹52,419 worth of medical equipment and medicines were confiscated from the accused’s clinics. These included allopathic medicines, injections, glucose bottles, and antibiotics.
During police interrogation, the accused admitted to having previously worked as assistants in various pharmacies. After gaining basic knowledge of medicines, they started their own clinics, thereby endangering people’s lives. Some also disclosed that they had obtained fraudulent degrees from Rasesh Gujarati, who was arrested in December last year in connection with a fake degree scam. DeshGujarat
