Rajkot Police Arrest Man for Murdering Friend to Fake Own Death

Rajkot: In a shocking turn of events, the Rajkot Police have arrested a man named Hasmukh Vyas for faking his own death and murdering his friend, Sandeep Giri Goswami. The incident occurred in Mahika village of Gondal Taluka.

Vyas had allegedly spread false rumors about securing a lucrative catering contract in Ayodhya. This announcement had generated significant excitement, with numerous individuals contacting him for job opportunities. Feeling overwhelmed by the inquiries and unable to fulfill his fabricated promises, Vyas reportedly decided to stage his own death.

On December 25th, Vyas invited his friend, Sandeep Giri, to his house in Mahika village under the pretext of helping with household chores. During this visit, Vyas allegedly administered sleeping pills to Giri. Subsequently, he used Giri’s jacket lace to strangle him to death. Vyas was allegedly helped by his minor aide who was present there.

To further orchestrate the deception, Vyas placed his own ID card, wallet, and shoes near the dead body of Sandeep Giri. This was intended to create the illusion that the deceased individual was indeed Vyas.

However, the police investigation took a dramatic turn when a post-mortem conducted at the Civil Hospital in Rajkot revealed that the cause of death was strangulation, not burning as initially suspected. Forensic tests further corroborated this finding.

The Rajkot Rural Local Crime Branch then picked up a minor accused who allegedly helped Vyas to commit this crime. During his questioning, the entire plot was revealed. Police have nabbed Vyas and the juvenile accused. DeshGujarat
